As has been confirmed by official announcements, Microsoft is all set to join hands with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre to launch a new and customized version of the Internet Explorer 8, which would promote online safety for families.
The new offering has been christened "Internet Explorer 8 Click Clever Click Safe", and what sets it apart from the other browsers is that it embeds advice, help and report services directly into the toolbar. Also, users can add a Web Slice which would enable single-click access to all the information on cyber bullying, viruses, hacking, mobile protection, harmful content and sexual behavior.
"As more and more young people are learning, playing and communicating online, it is vital we provide the appropriate safety information as we know this is one of the most effective ways of helping to protect people", said Microsoft business and marketing officer Matthew Bishop.
Users can download the customized browser from clickceop. net/ie8.
