50 Dead as Rajasthan Docs' Strike Enters 6th DayThe strike being carried out by government doctors in Rajasthan is nearing a weak now, and no wonder the strike is massively torturing patients the most as they are continuously paying for the strike with their lives.

The strike is now into its sixth day and already, the number of casualties due to lack of medical supervision has reached 50. On Monday, the strike made its way into the sixth day and it seems like the doctors are in no mood to call it off anytime soon.

In the meantime, two Chief Medical and Health officers (CMHOs) have been suspended by the Government. In addition, as many as 10 Primary Medical Officers (PMOs) have also received suspension letters. On the whole, in excess of 397 doctors have been detained by the government so far on behalf of the Essential Services Maintenance Act.

On the other hand, as many as 361 private hospitals all over the state have received authorization from the government for providing critical services for OPD and diagnostics.

Meanwhile, army doctors are offering assistance in terms of emergency services that have been reinstates in a handful of hospitals all over the state.

While expressing his opinion regarding the critical situation and the attempts being made by the Government in order to end the crisis at earliest, Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan said, during his recent visit to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur on Sunday, took a gauge of the situation and assured the patients as well as their relatives that things will be fixed at earliest as the Government is keen of safeguarding the wellness of patients in need of treatment.

In this regard, a spokesperson from the Health Department said: “We are negotiating with the striking doctors. A solution is likely to be reached soon. At least 40 patients have died in hospitals across the state due to the absence of doctors”.
