Treat Explosion as National Emergency

Treat Explosion as National EmergencyThis Christmas for Nigeria was no different than that witnessed by the region last year. The majority of churches in Suleja and in Madalla town were forced to call off their Christmas service over threats of more bombardments on their places of worship. During Christmas celebration, a number of churches over the region witnessed bombing activities, which have been accepted by activists from Boko Haram Islamist.

In this regard, Babangida Aliyu, the Governor of Niger State has severely criticized the bombardments, which even included a case of suicide bombing that killed several security officials, claiming that there is s dire need for the government to consider these sorts of bomb attacks as national emergency.

Mallam Danladi Ndayebo, the press secretary of the Governor said on his behalf that the governor has expressed deep regrets over the matter, mainly because the perpetrators opted for the auspicious Christmas Day for carrying out their dastardly activities.

While offering his sincere sympathy to the families of all those who went through these inhuman bombing attacks urged President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately set up a forum for stakeholders so as to provide wide-ranging solutions to the unremitting bombings going on all over the nation.

“The issue of security should not be left to government alone. My thinking is that government alone cannot stop the activities of terrorists which have left hundreds of innocent Nigerians either dead or wounded”, he added.

At present, Nigeria is going through an outbreak of terrorism and if it is not checked in the nick of time, it may end up imposing deadly threat for Nigeria’s aspiration for Direct Foreign Investment and can ultimately result in thwarting the achievement of Vision 20: 2020.

In reaction to the blasts, Alhaji Yunus Adamu, the Suleja Local Government Chairman claimed that the recent bombing was actually the worst ever witnessed in the region.
