New Year is a time to wish your dear ones with prosperity, good health and many good wishes for the new coming year and saying good bye to all what the previous year gave.
Twitter is known as the most popular micro-blogging site to easily make all your dear ones read what you are wishing them and what all is going through your mind. But unluckily, the site got crashed yesterday due to overload of New Year messages and greetings.
As reports have confirmed, the website crashed in Britain at 3 PM (local time), after which it got stuck for more than an hour. The officials are claiming that working of the website coincided with the midnight celebrations of New Year in Japan as the website started witnessing submission of 16,197 tweets per second.
The overloaded stuck the website and didn’t submit any more posts from any new users. Also, it didn’t allow users to have a look at existing tweets. The only message that the frustrated users were greeted with was the error message from twitter saying that "Twitter is over capacity".
Website officials immediately worked on the issue and started the website with its usual working but then, the website noted several stops which the officials doubt could be the different arrival times of New Year in different parts of the world.
“Some people experienced issues connecting early today”, said Ms. Carolyn Penner, a Spokesperson for Twitter, although she declined to clarify why Twitter went down or for how long the service was unavailable.
On the other hand, Facebook wished its users by facilitating them with huge capacity for one billion New Year traffic.
