The ‘Gut Feeling’ Can Help you Lose Weight

The ‘Gut Feeling’ Can Help you Lose WeightIt has been revealed in a new study that the gut hormone might soon be able to help people lose weight. It has been said that this might be a new appetite suppressing hormone, with the help of which the body will be motivated to keep fit and trim and help people in losing their flab.

This has been revealed according to a study given at the bmj site and is of the view that the hormone called GLP-1 or glucagon-like peptide-1 works towards reducing the cholesterol and blood pressure levels of people.

It has been further revealed that the gut secretes the hormone GLP-1 when one eats. It has been further added that an injected form of the hormone is now emerging as a new treatment mode for type 2 diabetes. This is because it has the ability to keep a check on the blood sugar levels.

This discovery might lead to be beneficial in the weight loss industry. There could soon be a new mode of treatment or a new drug made by the Pharma companies using this hormone, which could help people in keeping a check on their blood sugar levels and promoting weight loss.

"We see a sustained effect on body weight throughout the trials, 25 trials. So it is not just a coincidence, it is efficacious on body weight”, said Dr. Tina Vilsboll, a researcher, and the head of the diabetes research group at the University of Copenhagen.

It was further added by the researchers that there is need for more research to be done on the matter to find out whether the drug could be given to people who are not at a risk of type2 diabetes.
