A study that got published in the journal Appetite has revealed about how one could reduce weight and drink less alcohol with the help of red colour. The study that was taken out by a group of researchers from the British Dietetic Association has affirmed that eating in red plate and drinking alcohol in red cup reduces obesity and alcohol binging by 40%.
Ursula Arens at the British Dietetic Association said that it happens due to a fact that the red colour is generally being associated with danger, harm and stop. So, if people would eat and drink in red coloured cup and plate then they would eat and drink less.
In order to reach at the above conclusion, the study authors conducted several experiments. In first experiment, they enrolled 41 male students who were given option to have tea either in red or blue cup. It got revealed that 44% people drank less in a red cup.
In the second experiment, the study researchers enrolled 109 volunteers who were asked to have snacks from red, blue and white plates. It also revealed the same results that very few snacks got consumed from the red plate.
Ursula Arens said that by changing plates colour, one would not only get a change from those boring plain white plates but would also get good health.
