It seems like the Finance Minister, Mr. Noonan, is having tough time as the Opposition Party has alleged that the youngsters are living and coming back to Ireland for lifestyle reasons only. In the past few years, it has been found that many youngsters have been leaving land for reasons like lifestyle.
However, it has been claimed that the poor employment rates have forced them to take the stern step of emigration. He shared that his own three children have shifted to other land. He was reported as saying, “It’s not being driven by unemployment at home, it’s being driven by a desire to see another part of the world and live there”.
The comments made by the Finance Minster received were severely criticized by the member of Opposition Parties Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin. They described the comments as insensitive. Previously, former Fianna Fáil tánaiste Mary Coughlan was also criticized by the government as he supported the growing trend of emigration.
It has been alleged that the comments of the Finance Minster has hurt the feelings of thousands family whose members have emigrated. Mr. Noonan did confirm that in some of the cases people were forced to emigrate as the country’s employment rate is poor.
Due to global financial crunch about 100,000, employees lost their job. They didn’t have another option rather than going to some other country in the search of job. Emigration might be beneficial for the family members but for the country’s growth it is not good. As the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is directly gets impacted by the increased cases of emigrations. Besides, in many cases the emigrants have to face opposition at the alien country. The stir which has been cause by the comments of the Finance Minster has made the people to think whether or not they should emigrate.
