It has been recently revealed that the third-smallest baby ever, to survive, is now doing better and has been discharged from the hospital in Los Angeles. It was in August last year when this miracle child was born, as many as 16 weeks ahead of time.
The name of the baby is Melinda Star Guido and she weighs only 9.5 ounces, which is roughly equal to the size of a soda can. The parents have been really supportive to their miniature infant, and even the doctors have finally declared her fit.
The mother of the child Haydee Ibarra, who is 22 years old, revealed that she is extremely happy to see her baby come home. The parents had been eagerly waiting for this moment of joy.
It was revealed by Dr. Rangasamy Ramanathan, the chief of the LA Medical Center, that the girl was so weak and little that they weren’t even sure that she would live more than a few days.
“We have reached a milestone by being able to see Melinda go home”, he added. “We are hopeful to see many more milestones accomplished in Melinda's development as we follow her care over the next six years”, he said.
It’s amazing to see how the baby has survived even after being born so premature and unhealthy. It’s great on part of the hospital to help the baby survive.
She is the third-smallest baby ever to survive and this makes her parents feel really proud and happy. It’s also good to see that there has been enough development in science and technology now that this seemingly impossible feat was pulled of well and the life of the girl was saved.
