Watch out What Oil Are You Using for Cooking!

oliveWhile there is so much being said about what to and what not to eat, here comes another research which has claimed that cooking food in olive or sunflower oil can be healthy. However, cooking in other oils could make one facing health issues.

It was found after a team of researchers from Madrid University, Spain, examined the health of people from the age of 29 to 69, who never had any heart issue. The team further divided them into four groups and fed them with varied foods. The team observed them for the next 10 years and found that there were nearly 600 who were diagnosed with heart diseases while other 1,100 were told to have died from other reasons.

"Where olive and sunflower oils are the most commonly used fats, no association was observed between fried food and the risk of coronary heart disease or death”, said Professor Pilar Guallar-Castillon, who led the study. With the research hitting the contours of the medical community, it is being believed that it has ,managed to break the popular perception that all kinds of oily food could trigger the risk of heart diseases or even lead to death.

Even butter which was earlier seen an unhealthy is now told to have vitamin D in it. There is need for myths related with food items to be addressed so that they can change the perception of people about certain healthy items.

It is necessary for people to be more vigilant about not just what they eat but how the food is prepared. One must take care of what they are feeding their body. Having said that, the team is of the say that there is need for people to be more conscious about food they eat and should not blindly gorge on anything served.
