As per recent reports, it has been revealed that a large number of smokers have asked that smoking should be allowed in the public places and at all the other places where it has been banned. They are of the view that people brae to live with others who stink badly then they should also develop a habit to live with those who smoke.
For them, it is just like robbing away the individual liberty and they feel that smoking has become a class like religion or sex, for which they are somewhat hated. It is not a problem for them to be classified as smokers, but they should not be hated for it.
Things got worst at the time when the Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Health Non-Smokers Ordinance got passed in October 2002. As per the law, no one was allowed to sell cigarettes and tobacco products near education institutions.
Those who were caught doing that faced the penalty or three months imprisonment and in some case both. The law got further extended to public places and anyone who found anybody smoking at public places was free to go and register their complaints with police.
However, a group of smokers said that they cannot understand the basic of such rules. They affirmed that they do not deny that it causes severe problem to smokers. But, there is little or no evidence which shows that non-smokers are affected by smoke.
In turn, the experts said that they have ample of evidences which state that secondhand smoke could have ill effects on the health of people. Some of the common diseases which could cause due to smoking are heart disease and asthma.
This should also be noted that only those non smokers face such severe problems that are exposed to great amount of secondhand smoke.
