Motorola, Google Likely to Fuse Into OneAs per reports, it has been revealed that Motorola Mobility has sold 1 million tablets in the fourth quarter of 2011, but has also suffered an $80 million loss in the same period. The company said that the main reason of the loss is fewer sales of tablets in the earning quarter.

The annual report revealed that Motorola has incurred loss of $249 million for 2011, and has earned profit of $13 billion. It also got revealed that not only the sale is less, but the number of shipments has also reduced this time.

The company said that in 2011, they have shipped 11.3 million products which is too less in comparison to their previous records. Motorola further affirmed that they have got the proposal to merge with Google. However, they are still looking into the matter and are trying to measure profit and loss out of the deal.

They further asserted, “Energized by the proposed merger with Google and continue to focus on creating innovative technologies”. It is said that if the deal would get close then it would be somewhere around $12.5-billion.

In addition to this, the company has also filed a lawsuit against Apple, in which they have blamed the later for infringing six patents in the iPhone 4S and four patents from iCloud. It is the second time when the company has filed law suit against Apple.

In 2010, they tried to add the iPhone 4S and iCloud in the original suit, but the judge did not agree to it and said it was too late for the addition. This is the reason that they filed another lawsuit for both the products.

It is reported that this time Google is supporting Motorola in the suit and Google has been closely following the other lawsuits as well.
