Fatty Pork Packed Nose Controls Nosebleeds, Says Study

Fatty-Pork-PackedIt has been found by an up-to-date report that bacon does not only add flavour to different chows like sandwiches, pastas and cookies, but equally acts as a restraint for nosebleeds. A team of researchers has told that bacon can really prove a wonder in controlling nose bleeding.

The team of researchers told that nasals if packed with strips of cured pork can be an effective treatment for a patient having Glanzmann thrombasthenia, in which he or she goes through a life-threatening hemorrhage. They stated that if bacon is stuffed in the nose of patient of Glanzmann thrombasthenia, it could do wonders.

The report says that the study this time is not even imaginable but it has been revealed that it is a very old technique of stuffing pork in nose. However, it was stopped from being applied fearing bacterial and parasitic complications that it could lead to. Advanced technologies and synthetic hemostatic agents had overshadowed the tradition of nose packed with fatty pork.

But, the latest study in which doctors used this technique for treating a patient’s life-threatening nosebleed has found that it could be a great thing to stuff nose with strips of bacon. They treated a four-year-old girl with a blood disorder of rare type called Glanzmann thrombasthenia, which was not responding to other treatments that involved surgery and injection of blood coagulation.

They then used the nasal tampon method to cure and found twice that it could be used as a practical medical use as the girl had reinjured herself after a few days. The doctors then remarked that it might not prove good for one’s belly but is essentially good in treating nosebleeds problem.

“Cured salted pork crafted as a nasal tampon and packed within the nasal vaults successfully stopped nasal hemorrhage promptly, effectively, and without sequelae”, said the team of researchers.
