Baby Lotion of Johnson & Johnson Recalled

Baby Lotion of Johnson & Johnson RecalledOn Fridays, the Johnson & Johnson recalled its Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Lotion from the market. The recall was called after the products failed to meet the standards set by Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

During an investigation over the products by the FDA it was found that the lotion was contaminated with certain bacteria. Following the results of the investigation, the product was recalled by the manufacturer voluntarily.

In the news release, the company stated, "That test indicated that the lot exceeded the specifications for common bacteria, though extensive testing by an independent laboratory afterward did not show that specifications were exceeded".

It has been informed that the bacteria which has been found is called coagulase-negative Staphylococci, it also described as a family of bacteria. This particular bacteria or the family of bacteria develops in the environment.

These bacteria are also commonly found on the skin, scalp and on the surface of home. However, in the lotion the presence of the bacteria was higher than the allowed levels. Therefore, a recall was essential.

However, the Vice President of Johnson & Johnson said that the products although have higher level of bacteria, they are save to be used. Those who have already bought the lotion can safely use it without being paranoid.

It has been informed that the baby lotion which is in the news was actually produced by a third-party manufacturer in Canada. About 2,200 tubes of the product have been recalled from the market. It has been unveiled that in the past few years, a number of incidences have taken place in which Johnson & Johnson had to recall its product from the market.

The quality of the products of the Johnson & Johnson has now become a subject of doubt as a number of recalls are being announced by the firm every year.
