It’s Farewell Time for Jon Rubinstein at HPIt has been informed that after working for two years for Hewlett-Packard Co., Jon Rubinstein has taken a back step. During his tenure, he enjoyed the post of Chief Executive at the Palm Inc.

Last year, he was seen at the launch of the TouchPad. Although it has been unveiled that he is saying goodbye to the firm, it has not been revealed as to where he would be working afterwards. It has been informed that Jon Rubinstein was earlier working under the supervision of Steve Jobs.

Rubinstein has worked as Chairman of Palm since 2007, and later on he was offered the post of CEO. In 2010, the Hewlett-Packard acquired Palm for $1.2 billion in 2010. In the Apple, Rubinstein has gained fame through his sheer hard work.

It has been informed that when the acquisition of the Palm took place, Rubinstein promised of serving for at least two years. After serving for two years, Rubinstein has decided to say goodbye to the firm. However, it has been rumored that Rubinstein is being pulled out from the firm as the outcome of the company wasn't up to mark.

While bidding goodbye to the firm, Rubinstein said, "I'd stick around and give him advice and help out. But now that everything is settled and we've figured out what's happening with everything and everybody - I've done what I said was going to do and it's time to move on".

Meanwhile, it has come to light that the HP would be doing away with the webOS-based tablet as the tablet failed to deliver the desired competition to the iPad. As the sale of the webOS-based tablet wasn't enough, the group announced in August that it would be doing away with the webOS-based devices.
