It has been recently revealed in a report that a children dental care program was organized b the dental team of the vicinity. In this event, as many as 100 children from Youngstown received free dental checkups. There were resident dental doctors, assistants as well as hygienists who took part in the event known as the 10th annual Give Kids a smile program for Ohio.
The event was sponsored by the Ohio Dental Association and the dental staff as well as the assistants were from the Technical Choffin Career and Technical Center's School of Dental Assisting. There were also volunteers from the Humility of Mary Health Partners from the St. Elizabeth Health Center and the Corydon Palmer Dental Society.
In recent times there has been a rise in the number of dental ill health cases reported in the area. There is need for re awareness methods to make children aware of the needs of maintaining sound dental and oral hygiene. It is essential for one and all to brush their teeth twice a day and to floss after every meal. It is also essential for them to go for regular dental and to avoid eating too much sweet.
"To me, it means a lot to be able to offer these services, especially to kids who otherwise wouldn't have access and otherwise wouldn't have the option or choice to do it for themselves," "To have our office participate is very important to us", said Dr. Blake Drew of Family Dental Care.
It is essential that these ideal dental care habits are instilled in the minds of the children when they are young and willing to learn. They need to be caught to take good care of their teeth because they are valuable assets.
