A report has uncovered recently that Apple Inc. would relaunch its old models of iPhone and 3G-based iPads that were banned by Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. It has been revealed by the head of Apple Inc. that it would soon resume the sale of iPhone and 3G-based iPads through its German online store.
Though, it is widely known that introduction of smartphones by various companies one by one and then being competitors of one another has given rise to a series of court cases in the recent years, including the lawsuit that was filed by Motorola on Apple Inc.
It is being said that the chief of Apple has not told however when exactly they would resume the sales. But, it was unfolded and was made very clear that Apple Sales International -- the European sales subsidiary of Apple in Cork, Ireland, that was stopped from selling iPhones violating Motorola cellular communications patents by a regional German court in Mannheim has now been allowed to continue with its sales of such mobile devices.
The report revealed that Motorola was granted an injunction in the month of December for proving its allegation on Apple’s European affiliate that it infringed on patents for cellular communications. In the context, Motorola said that it was trying to negotiate with the company since the year 2007 by offering reasonable licensing terms and conditions to it. But, Apple’s resellers did not stop from selling the mobile devices. This is why Apple was told to stop selling these devices.
However, a spokesperson from Apple said, "Motorola repeatedly refuses to license this patent to Apple on reasonable terms, despite having declared it an industry standard patent seven years ago". This is the only reason why Apple kept on selling its devices.
