A large number of civilians who were wounded during the course of acute violence that transpired all over Syria are not being provided with sufficient medical treatment and the care they need in order to get better. The statements were released on Wednesday by an international aid group. The allegations were mainly based on the fact that security forces have taken the command of a large number of public hospitals in their hands, which is resulting in poor care being provided to those wounded during the violence.
Along the same lines, a group termed as “Doctors without Borders” has recently publicized a video in Paris, wherein the group featured interview clips with 10 people who were wounded in Syrian violence. In addition, five doctors from Syria who’ve escaped the country were also featured in the video.
The anonymous witnesses have also averred that a large number of wounded people are living in a state of extreme apprehension when it comes to making visits to such hospitals for getting treatment, mainly out of caution and fear that Syrian officials could detain them and can force an interrogation or torture on them. As an alternative, a number of wounded individuals are going for alternative treatments, whatever available at private clinics or various other makeshift hospitals providing services at home.
While revealing the sensitivity of the situation, a doctor was reported saying: “We've seen different types of injuries, notably contusions from being hit, fatal electric shocks. One person was electrocuted in the mouth until he died. I saw that”.
“Doctors without Borders”, the organization that holds no authority of working in Syria, has claimed that it may perhaps not alone corroborate the Syrians' accounts. But still, the testimony was made public by the group since the “recurrence and the gravity” of the saga of sheer severity in several sections all over Syria is getting more and more severe with the passage of time.
