German Automaker Volkswagen has announced a recall of 20,000 cars in Mexico, due to insufficient lubrication on its rear wheel which cause noise and blockage of the wheels.
The company said in a statement, it had also recalled almost 200,000 of its Novo Gol and Voyage model cars in Brazil over the same problem, a day earlier.
The company revealed that the recall in Mexico had been ordered over the "possibility that the rear wheel bearings could be insufficiently lubricated, causing them to make noise”.
Vehicles manufactured after July 2009 are not affected.
The announcements follow an enormous worldwide recall by Toyota over accelerator and brake problems. Honda also extended its own recall to around 950,000 vehicles.
