Bing Will Improve with Yahoo-Microsoft Deal

Bing Will Improve with Yahoo-Microsoft DealAs Microsoft will take over Yahoo search, Bing will become a better search engine. It will be better able to compete with search giant Google, said the U. S. Department of Justice. The U. S. Department of Justice has accepted Microsoft's online advertising partnership with Yahoo in part.

Microsoft will expand access to approximately three times the search queries it's getting with Bing alone, by managing the back end of all Yahoo searches. Bing's automated learning will be increased by the extra data, which will help the search engine to return more applicable results.

"U. S. market participants express support for the transaction and believe that combining the parties' technology would be likely to increase competition by creating a more viable competitive alternative to Google, the firm that now dominates these markets", said the DOJ.

42% of the searches must be refined after the first query, claimed Microsoft.

Yahoo expects the agreement to put in $500 million to annual operating income and $275 million to cash flow while cutting capital expenses by $200 million.
