The list of distribution partners has been released by the third mobile entrant, 2 Degrees for its SIM cards and mobile phones.
Apart from having reputed electronic and office supplies retailers - such Noel Leeming, Bond & Bond, Dick Smith Electronics, Warehouse Stationery - 2 Degrees also has food chains Pak ’n Save, New World, Foodtown, Countdown, and Woolworths onboard.
The list unveiled by 2 Degrees also has the names of Fuel stations and garages Shell, Mobil, BP, along with other independently-owned petrol stations served by Red Circle. Cash and Carry outlets Gilmours, Toops and Trents will also have 2 Degrees products at launch.
So overall, it is being hoped by 2 Degrees that it handsets would be available in nearly 400 outlets in August, and SIM cards in 2,700 stores.
When 2 Degrees was asked about the handsets which would be offered by it, chief sales and marketing officer, Larrie Moore, said: “We won't have any crap handsets — instead, we'll offer people's favorite ones.”
