For all constant users of LinkedIn, Facebook and other social networking websites, who use these as a tool for managing their business contacts, the latest update that is being provided by Microsoft to Outlook, announced last week, will come as a boon.
Currently, the technology giant is busy beta testing a new feature which it calls the Outlook Social Connector. It will end up syncing information from LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace right into Outlook. As of now, the update is working only with LinkedIn.
Also, the new update will help the user stay informed about what the contacts are up to on those networks.
Although many are cheering the new addition, there are some who are worrying about the effects that integration of social networking will have on Outlook, which is predominantly a business tool, as networking websites can be quite distracting.
Presently, there is no information on when the new update will be released.
Users who want to test the version can log on to office. com and download the Outlook Social Connector in beta.
