A recent report released by Gartner has revealed that apple iPhone's sales have doubled in 2009, thereby reaching the third largest global market share in smartphones.
Apple has sold 11.4 million units of iPhones in 2009, and its Smartphone market-share has risen to 14.4%, during the year.
This rise in apple's market-share has beaten those of Symbian and RIM.
On the contrary, a report from ABI Research, which measures smartphone sales from quarter to quarter, has said that Android was starting to pounce on Apple’s market share in the last quarter or 2009.
