A multi-million dollar lawsuit has been filed against a doctor for damaging a bosom-boosting surgery on a 47-year-old woman.
A Staten Island woman filed the lawsuit against a plastic surgeon Dr Keith Berman after he botched her breast augmentation procedure. The five-million dollars lawsuit against Dr Berman stated that monetary amounts for humiliation, pain, disability, embarrassment, pain, and loss of self-esteem was caused to the woman.
The first surgery on Maria Alaimo was conducted in 2003 for which she paid seven thousand dollars in cash for an augmentation of breasts that would fill a 36c bra size.
The procedure caused a `double bubble' effect or something that was equal to having four breasts on her chest. She went through Dr Berman knife for the second time which was an attempt to correct the first botched procedure. The results included more scarring and the bubbles were still present.
She declined hen Dr Berman offered to do a third surgery. She had to go to a different surgeon but all she was left with was severe scarring and did not correct the problem at all. According to her lawyer she ended up being divorced from her husband in 2004 as she had to hide her body from her husband.
Dr Berman's only defense is that he had warned Alaimo about risks involved.
