Genetic make-up can decide your diet

genetic-testsStanford University researchers reported that genetic tests could make you choose your diet.

A study was conducted in which 133 overweight women were involved, and it was noticed that there was a 2 1/2 times more weight loss in woman with a genetic predisposition to benefit from a low-carbohydrate diet as compared to women who were on the same diet without the predisposition.

It was also observed that more weight was lost by women with a genetic makeup that favored a low-fat diet as compared to those who restricted fat calories without low-fat genes.

Christopher Gardner, an associate professor of medicine at Stanford and a co-author of the study said, "Knowing your genotype for low-carb or low-fat diets could help you increase your weight-loss success."

It was finally concluded that even strict diets will not benefit at all The if people's diets do not match their genetics.
