Three deaths in accidents on Saturday

accidentA 94-year-old woman died following an accident that took place at a car park of a supermarket on Saturday.

The old woman was thrown from her car when it crashed caused several injuries that led to her death.

At about 10: 20 am, at the Woolworths Supermarket in the Kingston Town Shopping Centre, the Kingston woman's 2007 silver Toyota Yaris hit a bollard and fire hydrant.

According to constable Amanda Hext, the woman was the sole occupant and suffered from severe leg injuries. She was rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by Ambulance.

The police has not released her name. She died yesterday afternoon following injuries. Police is finding eyewitnesses of the accident.

Another accident was reported in which Legana motorcyclist Steve Ritchie and 21-year-old Prospect cyclist Will Robinson died on Saturday.

Ritchie’s motorcycle collided with a van on Cradle Mountain, he was a Launceston firefighter and father-of-three, and died in a head-on crash.

Robinson failed to negotiate a bend on a steep decline of Cethana Road and collided with a coach going uphill, he was training at that time.

Two other had also collided with the coach but following minor injuries have been discharged from the hospital.

A report is being prepared by police for the coroner on all three deaths.
