Incentives for reducing waiting times

Incentives for reducing waiting timesThere would be about 200,000 new doctors, dentists and nurses over the next 10 years in OZ. National health system being pushed by Premier John Brumby would be repair by this step.

Brumby has put forward a challenge for the Prime Minister and the other premiers for boosting the healthcare workforce. Brumby did so as he is perturbed that Kevin Rudd's no extra money will be given to states for at least four years under Rudd’s contentious hospitals plan.

Brumby has also put forward an alternative plan to the Rudd scheme. It states that about 50,000 new healthcare workers will be trained by Victoria educating them and training them with 150,000 trained professionals. The in-hospital practical training would be funded by the states while the Commonwealth would fund extra undergraduate university places.

States were accused by the Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon for making patients suffer as for dumping the costs on Commonwealth, patients were moved out earlier.

She said so following Rudd offering an extra incentive for his plan. He stated that incentive payments would be given to public hospitals for cutting waiting times for surgery.

Brumby claimed that his plan would lead to better healthcare for patients as compared to Rudd’s plan to seize control of majority funding of the hospital system.

Brumby added, ''Victorian patients will not see any new doctors or nurses for at least four years as a result of the proposed Canberra takeover. We need to start training this next generation of doctors and nurses now.''
