In the Illawarra, there will be efforts made by the New South Wales Nurses Association by kick starting a community campaign that will try to put a stop plans to replace mental health nurse managers with non-clinical staff.
The association informed that positions that head the Wollongong, Lake Illawarra and Nowra community mental health teams would be reclassified by the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Health Service.
The association's team manager, Lisa Kremmer, said, "If the majority of nurses working in those community mental health services don't have access to a manager with clinical experience and qualifications, they're concerned about the impact on care for the clients."
Qualified RMN's are being looked at who would work as Permanent clinical nurse advisors within Primary Care in Central London, South East and South Central.
This Nurse Advisor would be needed to upgrade patient access to innovative CBT therapies within local GP practices.
