HTC to ‘vigorously’ fight patent-infringement lawsuit filed against it by Apple

htc-appleAfter having recently voiced its intentions of ‘vigorously’ fighting the patent-infringement lawsuit filed against it by Apple, HTC has argued that it is without blemish; and that neither its Android-based smartphones, nor in its Windows Mobile handsets, infringe on the patents that Apple currently holds.

However, though HTC plans to defend itself against the patent-infringement allegations cited by Apple, the company presently has no intentions of filing a patent-infringement countersuit against Apple.

The Apple-HTC patent brawl will apparently have a direct impact on smartphones, at least in the US – more so as HTC offers a wide array of innovative and popular smartphones - both for Windows Mobile and Android – from almost all leading wireless carriers of the country.

Noting that HTC puts an inimitable spin on its devices that set them apart from the devices of rival manufacturers, the company’s chief executive Peter Chou said: “From day one, HTC has focused on creating cutting-edge innovations that deliver unique value for people looking for a smartphone.”

Reiterating that “HTC disagrees with Apple’s actions and will fully defend itself,” Chou added: “HTC strongly advocates intellectual property protection and will continue to respect other innovators and their technologies as we have always done, but we will continue to embrace competition through our own innovation as a healthy way for consumers to get the best mobile experience possible.”
