Going by a recent email obtained by MacWorld, developers who are involved in the process of developing apps for Apple’s forthcoming iPad tablet and aim at bringing their software to the App Store before the iPad hits the markets April 3, should have their respective apps ready for review by March 27.
The e-mail, which reportedly has been sent to registered iPhone developers, said that only those apps which are submitted for review by the March 27 deadline will meet the eligibility criteria for “the grand opening of the iPad App Store.”
The email – which clearly suggests that the App Store will have an iPad-centric section – further specifies that the apps that are submitted for review should be developed with the iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 5, which is the latest edition of Apple’s developer tools.
Furthermore, to meet the eligibility conditions for review, the apps should be digitally signed an uploaded to iTunes Connect by Saturday, March 27, 5p. m. PT. Those apps that fulfill the stipulated requirements will be duly reviewed by Apple’s App Review Team, which will then inform the developers if their respective apps are ready for the iPad.
Meanwhile, over and above the iPad-specific apps, the forthcoming tablet device will run nearly all the over 150,000 applications that are already available in the App Store.
