The state health officials have announced that New England Sinai Hospital has blocked the admissions of new patients from Friday that due to the rising concerns regarding the skin and wound care and the safety of the patients.
The officials have revealed that the hospital has admitted that it has been lacking on the front of providing proper care to the wounded patients. Two such cases have added to the worsening of the situations in the hospitals. In the first case the hospital staff failed in identifying the patient’s wound properly. And in the second case the staff faced a lot of trouble while inserting an IV into a patient as he was in a terrible condition.
Sinai’s President Judith Waterson explained that closing the new entries it was the need of the hour.
“We believed we're so important to quality patient care that we wanted to pause, take a time while we didn’t accept admissions to make sure that we developed new policies and procedures”, he said.
However, the patients of the hospital were reported to have given mixed responses on the performance of the hospital staff.
The hospital officials have decided to provide a break of 21 days to the staff improve on the previous problems and rectify the errors in the clinical procedures.
The hospital will be asked to clarify on its policy on making the changes.
