Artan Hasani, 31, has been sent to jail over a road rage attack in Adelaide.
He reportedly stabbed a relative of a woman driver he had crashed into repeatedly.
The Supreme Court heard Hasani who stated that when the relatives of other driver arrived at the crash scene, he had been concerned for the safety of his wife and infant daughter.
It was alleged that in 2008 Hasani ran a red light at the corner of Grange and South Roads at Hindmarsh crashing into the woman's car.
It was reported that Hasani stabbed a male relative of the other driver three times in the abdomen during verbal and physical altercations between the parties.
It was also reported that Hasani was given a head jail sentence of six-and-a-half years after he was found guilty of causing serious harm with intent.
In the South Australian Supreme Court on Monday Justice John Sulan told Artan Hasani that it was a serious offence to produce and use a knife in such circumstances.
According to Justice Sulan the wounds were potentially fatal with one piercing the victim's liver.
