There were hardly any details forthcoming from Nintendo when it recently announced the upcoming 3-D version of its DS handheld gaming console – except for the surprising disclosure that the device would do away with the requirement of the special 3-D glasses!
As such, there are speculations and apprehensions galore as to how Nintendo will work out the eyewear-free gaming platform – a hardware coup, though highly preferred, is thus far unaccomplished.
No wonder, the wildest of guesses are being made about the 3-D glasses-free Nintendo 3DS – with it being assumed that the console might just feature two old DS console, set nearly 6 inches apart; requiring the players to sit back and ‘unfocus’ their eyes. This would mean that only half of the gamers would actually be able to see the 3-D images; while the other half will suffer from headaches!
Another wild and somewhat dumb supposition is that the eyewear-free 3DS will feature a type of motor-propelled pusher behind a flexible screen, which itself will bulge in nearly all the places where gamers would like to see a 3-D image!
Further, given the fact that the die-hard Nintendo fans happily lump up everything the company has to offer, it is possible that the company may come up with special contact lenses for the 3DS – thereby keeping its promise of an ‘eyewear-free’ 3-D console!
