Reports have revealed that Telcoinabox, the renowned telecommunications services aggregator, is looking to revamp and upgrade its ADSL offerings after the company signed a new wholesale contract with telecom giant Telstra.
The agreement has ended up extending the company's three year wholesale deal with Telstra for 15 more months. The original expiry date was December 2010. The deal and upgrade covers platforms like 2G mobile services, PSTN and ADSL1 and ADSL2+.
As a part of the makeover, Telcoinabox has shared that it will be replacing its DSL product, in addition to offering as many as three core speeds - 1.5Mbps, 8Mbps and 20Mbps. Also, the company will upgrade most of its existing customer base from lower speeds at no additional costs.
Telcoinabox, in April of 2009, had extended its ongoing wholesale deal with Telstra by signing up as a wholesale consumer for ADSL2+ services under an agreement for 2 years. The contract was valued at $16 Million and replaced one that was ongoing with AAPT.
"We are growing at in excess of 35 percent year on-year and that is forecast to continue into the next financial year and beyond. We have grown the number of end user customers significantly from about 20,000 a year ago to over
30,000", said CEO Paul Line, while estimating that with the new and improved services provided under the deal, Telcoinabox will generate expected revenues of $60 Million.
