Efforts are on by the Queensland Health, as it wants to get in touch with people who were on a Brisbane train last weekend and may have been exposed to measles.
On Saturday at about 8 am, a NSW man caught a train from the Brisbane International Airport to South Brisbane and has been diagnosed with the virus.
The man flew into Brisbane on a flight from New Zealand and fellow passengers who flew with him to Queensland have been contacted by the health authorities.
But QH is making efforts to contact those who were on the airport train with the man to South Brisbane.
According to Branch senior director of QH Communicable Diseases Christine Selvey, symptoms of measles developed 10 days after exposure.
The symptoms of measles are fatigue, fever, moist cough, runny nose, sore eyes, and a blotchy red rash.
Dr Selvey said, “The virus could last in the environment for up to two hours and vaccination was an effective preventive measure.”
