Notices of industrial action after agreeing to resume negotiations with District Health Boards (DHBs) later this month have been withdrawn by radiographers around New Zealand for which DHB chief operating officer.
Employees at each DHB had been taking action ranging from working and strikes and this had been there since February. The strikes that included a three-day walk-off affected work at the Auckland Hospital as it had halted some elective surgeries in late March.
The radiographers' union the Association of Professionals and Executive Employees, APEX, is looking forward to a pay rise of 3 per cent in a new collective agreement.
In June last year, Taranaki DHB offered the increase but an agreement was not reached by others as talks across 20 other DHBs failed.
The community and staff were thanked by Hawke's Bay DHB chief operating officer Warrick Frater today for cooperating as over the past 38 days industrial action had reduced services.
