New Zealand Foodco Acquired by Australian CounterpartFoodco New Zealand has been acquired by the Australian retail food franchise business Foodco Group the former operates the Muffin Break franchise in New Zealand. In Australia, Foodco has about 250 outlets and also owns Jamaica Blue and Dreamy Donuts along with Muffin Break franchise, for which it is known.

This acquisition is expected to pace up the group's plan of expansion as this trading has helped the Australian group to take over the 36 franchised, stated the group.

Charlie Duffill, the Business Manager of the group informed that the food franchise intends to add more to its already existing list of Jamaica Blue collection by adding outlets in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland towards the end of this year.

The group also aims at imparting a prior presence into the region, as it wants to expand its present two outlets of Dreamy Donut stores in Auckland into other major New Zealand businesses.

Presently holding 11 locations across the nation, the company also desires to spread its muffin break business adding 50 more to the list within 2 to 3 years.

The Managing Director of Foodco, Serge Infanti stated that the amalgamation of the business of two nations will reinforce the Muffin Break brand as the interaction between Foodco's product, operational and marketing teams will get better.
