Close on the heels of the last-week launch of the Stimulus Package for ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ on Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, Activision has announced that the Package of the popular game will arrive on the Sony PS3 console as well as PC on May 4 in North America, and May 5 in Europe and Australia.
Particularly, a free multiplayer weekend for Modern Warfare 2 on the PC will be available through Steam starting from April 8.
The five-map Stimulus Package, which retails for $14.99, features three new maps – Bailout, which takes place in a high-rise apartment complex; Storm, which plays out in the midst of colossal machinery in industrial complex; and Salvage, which has gamers meandering through a snow-covered junkyard. The Package also includes Crash and Overgrown - two popular leftovers from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
The temporary exclusivity of the Stimulus Package on the Microsoft console witnessed more than 1 million Xbox Live users downloading the Package in the first day of its availability and over 2.5 million downloads by the end of a week.
Going by the information forwarded by Activision, the somewhat rocky release of the map pack notwithstanding, the launch set new records for Xbox – both for the launch day as well as the launch week.
