An increase in the price of petrol at the pumps by five cents a litre at Caltex, BP, Shell and Mobil petrol stations has appeared today.
Now, petrol is being sold at 163.9 cents a litre for 91 octane petrol at Caltex, BP and Shell.
An increase in price for diesel by three cents a litre to 104.9 cents a litre by Mobil and BP has also come to sight.
Mark Stockdale, Automobile Association policy analyst, holds the viewpoint that AA is not astonished by the rise of petrol prices at the pumps.
He said: "Unfortunately the international price reductions of a fortnight ago which led to drops at the pump have been reversed and international prices have gone up."
Mr. Stockdale said that AA is happy that motorists have had a fortnight of lower prices after reductions on July 14.
The price hike in petrol at the mentioned stations is as follows:-
Shell
91 Octane: 163.9 cents a litre Diesel: 101.9 cents a litre
BP
