Botox can make you less empathetic

BotoxA research has stated that your skin might look younger by Botox but it could also damage your social life and emotions.

Experts add that it is because the anti-wrinkle jab makes it difficult for a person to get a sad look on his face when told about something sad, he might lose friends.

Psychologist David Havas at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the US, said, “If people seem slow in reacting to what they are being told, it is likely to be interpreted as a lack of sympathy or interest.”

Havas added that according to Charles Darwin’s theory, facial expression is important in developing feelings and added, “Blocking facial expression diminishes the experience of emotion.”

About 40 volunteers were studied and it was noticed how fast they react to processed written emotional statements before and after receiving Botox injections.

For those who had a £200 botox treatment done, it took significantly longer to grasp and respond to negative scenarios.
