The new, Android 2.1-based HTC Droid Incredible, boasting HTC’s updated Sense user interface, will officially hit Verizon Wireless on April 29. The handset will be priced at $200 after rebate and a two-year Verizon contract to a Nationwide Talk plan at a minimum monthly charge of $40, along with another commitment to an e-mail and Internet plan for at least $30.
Online preorders for the slim and sleek Droid Incredible, the cousin of the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Eris, will begin April 19. Though the Incredible is similar to the Google Nexus One handset in terms of design, it is essentially a CDMA version of the HTC Desire.
The key features of the Droid Incredible include a 3.7-inch display WVGA AMOLED display; 1 GHz Snapdragon processor; an 8-megapixel camera; and an extraordinary “topographic” battery cover.
The updated HTC Sense user interface of the handset offers a seven-panel homescreen, which will allow users a quick navigation to any one of seven open applications, and even enable them to close any one via the ‘Leap’ option on the homescreen.
Given the unique hardware, stronger specs, and a better user interface of the forthcoming Droid Incredible, it probably will be the most attractive Android handset in the market till the HTC EVO 4G is released this spring!
