Houston Doctor Imprisoned for Treating Patients with Fake Botox Products

Houston Doctor Imprisoned for Treating Patients with Fake Botox ProductsA Houston based Doctor Gayle Rothenberg, who injected around 170 patients with a false Botox product which was not approved for usage in human, has been imprisoned.

On Friday, a Federal Judge delivered the verdict, announcing nearly six months of imprisonment for the doctor. In addition, she has been asked to pay more than $98,000 in compensation and will not be allowed to get her medical license reinstated.

She has been booked under the charges of mislabeling the product and making forge statements. She had explained to the federal court in March, due to a rise in prices she had stopped placing orders for the Botox product.

However, she opted for an illegal drug which is available at half the cost of the previous one. She has now accepted that she was aware that the drug is not meant for use in human beings.

Rothenberg was held under the charges of defrauding the patients in 2007.
