Dell, which unveiled its ‘Streak’ Android-based tablet at the CES in January this year, has probably tweaked the design of the device – at least, that’s what the leaked images of the device suggest – such that it now bears a striking resemblance to the newly-launched Apple iPad tablet computer.
The leaked images show that rather than being similar to the Mini 5 that was introduced at the CES; the Dell Streak tablet now features 7-inch and 10-inch screen models – Streak 7 and Streak 10 -, which look quite like the iPad design!
There will also be a Streak 5 model, which will likely be released in summer this year - though there has been no formal disclosure by Dell about the detailed specs and prospective launch of the forthcoming tablet.
Meanwhile, it is being speculated that while Streak 7 will hit the markets towards the later part of 2010, and Streak 10 will be launched only by 2011 – probably a wee bit too late to offer any substantial competition to the iPad!
Refraining from making any official confirmation of its tablet, Dell told Engadget that the company “continually develops and tests new products that extend the mobile experience. We have not made any product announcements and do not comment on speculation, rumor or unannounced products.”
