A recent poll undertaken by the Associated Press-CNBC has revealed that most of the Americans strongly oppose the concept of legalizing marijuana, but even more people believe that it should be made available for medical purposes.
The poll has discovered that while 55% of the people oppose legalization of pot, only about 33% favor it. The under 30 age group was highly in favor of pot legalization.
Further, the poll found out that 60% of the people support medical marijuana and 74% strongly believe that the drug actually does have medical benefits.
The poll was undertaken between April 7 to 12 and involved interview with as many as 1,001 adults countrywide. The result had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.
