More than a decade after the launch of the one of the popular and valuable combat games, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, the sequel of the game has now been announced – it will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in spring next year.
Titled ‘Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds’ – or MvsC3 -, the sequel is powered by an “advanced version” of Capcom’s outstanding MT Framework engine, which also suggests a potential release for the PC in near future.
Going by the first trailer, presented by the Japan-based Capcom at a recent press event, the game will apparently continue with the signature favorites of the preceding game– including “over-the-top gameplay;” Assist Attacks; aerial combos; hyper combos; 3 vs. 3 tag-team fighting; and “other original systems,” with new “evolved” technicalities.
The somewhat comic angle of the title is aimed at creating a ‘living’ comic book, to suit both comic and fighting enthusiasts. Replete with a small touches, like a robust set of graphical shaders, MvsC3 not only captures Marvel’s combat style, but also the certain built-in events, which were obscurely mentioned during the presentation hosted by producer Ryota Niitsuma and the MvsC3 project’s special advisor Seth Killian.
The minute-long trailer of MvsC3 essentially displayed the game’s art style - a “moving comic” look, “blurring the boundaries between 2D and 3D graphics” – and sis familiar characters, including Morrigan, Chris Redfield, Iron Man, The Hulk, Wolverine and Ryu.
