According to Engadget, Dell is planning aggressive moves into the mobile arena, with its forthcoming lineup of three unannounced smartphones; and two Android-based multitouch tablet computers – Streak and Looking Glass. In addition, Dell is also working on a convertible netbook tablet, which is code-named Sparta; and a netbook is called Athens.
Going by the leaked documents uncovered by Engadget, the 5-inch multitouch Dell ‘Streak’ tablet – which is also called the Dell Mini 5 – will likely be released by September; while the 7-inch multitouch ‘Looking Glass’ tablet device will hit the stores by November.
The Dell Streak will feature a 5-inch WVGA screen; 1GHz Snapdragon processor; 3G; a 5-megapixel camera; 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connectivity; a microSD card slot for up to 32 GB; and Bluetooth 2.1.
The key features of Dell Looking Glass will include - a 7-inch WVGA screen; 4GB RAM; 3G; 1.3 megapixel camera; 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity; and optional TV tuner; a memory card slot supporting SD, SDHC and MMC formats, with 32GB maximum storage.
Meanwhile, as per Engadget, both the ‘Sparta’ convertible netbook tablet and the ‘Athens’ netbook will apparently feature an 11-inch TFT screen, and ARM-based processors, Both the devices, scheduled to be released in 2011, will be capable of running Google Android or Moblin Linux, and they feature an optional 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
