Adding to the education services' earning potential, about 7000 Saudi Arabian students who study in New Zealand are contributing at least $300 million annually.
This was disclosed by Trade Minister Tim Groser who also added that there prevail possibilities of expanding the education services to the Gulf region.
Groser also said that the companies in New Zealand expect from countries like Saudi Arabia as these nations are crowned with having the largest economy plus the maximum population in the Gulf Co-operation Council states.
A free trade agreement is being processed by New Zealand along with the GCC states. This deal can be stated as the first trade deal out of the Asia Pacific region.
He also stated that education deals with Saudi Arabia was a good decision as the two-thirds of the population that comes over to New Zealand for studies consist of people under 25 years of age.
According to Groser, the coming years are expected to witness a noticeable up heave in the education service and therefore, the economists expect a lot from Saudi Arabia, in the construction sectors specifically.
This is also the reason why New Zealand wants to stay close to the region, economically, politically and culturally.
