According to Dun and Bradstreet, it was observed that firms in Wellington continued to be the slowest in the country to pay their bills.
It was seen that the credit report agency had launched its latest business trade payment figures, in which the average time taken to pay bills was showed.
It was also seen that in the last three quarters New Zealand firms had been improving in paying their bills quickly.
From the analysis made by Dun & Bradstreet's, it was seen that Wellington firms recorded their third consecutive quarter as the slowest paying group. An increase of 3.1 days was seen on the previous quarter when the average was taken as 49.8 days.
The second slowest city that was seen was Auckland. It took 48.0 days to pay whereas 44.8 days were taken by Christchurch.
It was also noted that the North Island firms were slower than the South Island Firms to pay their bills. The days taken by the firms on the North Island to pay their bills increased from 2.1 days to 47.1 days, whereas on the South Island 1.6 days increase to 43.6 days.
