According to a new report by mobile advertising firm AdMob, the Motorola Droid handset is currently ruling the roost in the Android phones arena, accounting for almost one-third of all Android traffic that AdMob recorded during the month of March.
The report showed that Motorola Droid was way ahead of the other available Android handsets’ pack, showing a strong 32 percent share of total Android traffic for March; followed by the 19 percent share of second-ranking HTC Hero handset; and the 11 percent share of HTC Dream and HTC Magic handsets, tied in the third place.
The AdMob statistics suggest that Motorola and HTC dominated the overall Android market scene for March, with a combined 83 percent share of the total Android traffic for the month.
Among the other Android handset, the Motorola Cliq stood in the fourth spot with 10 percent share of the total March traffic; followed by the Samsung Moment with 6 percent share; and the Samsung Behold 2 and the Google Nexus One, both with 2 percent share of all Android-based AdMob traffic for March.
Furthermore, the AdMob report, which also revealed March advertising impressions based on mobile operating systems, revealed that statistically the Android beat the iPhone for the first time – surpassing the iPhone’s 39 percent share of all US-based traffic with its 46 percent share.
