Crime has no limit. Criminals placed a fake ATM kiosk inside the conference center of the Riviera Hotel Casino to punch the Defcon hacker conference that is taking place in Las Vegas.
The ATM that was positioned just outside Riviera Hotel’s security office, used to scan PIN numbers and other information from the cards when people would put their card into the machine.
A conference organizer, Priest informed that ATM’s screen was looking very dark, inside which there was hidden computer.
Priest further said most probably criminals were not aware of the fact that Riviera hotel was going to host hacker conference in which about 8,000 security experts were taking part.
Local law enforcement was informed by the conference organizers.
The machine was well placed to avoid surveillance camera.
Many cases have already reported about fake ATMs. Once a criminal gets access to somebody’s PIN number, he can withdraw money from victim’s account with the help of a fake ATM card.
