Launch of Sky News HD to take place on May 6

Sky NewsThe launch of Sky News HD has been confirmed by Sky for May 6, this would also overlap with coverage of the election night.

It has been reported that next Thursday, the channel would officially be launched. It became provisionally accessible on April 22, for the Sky News prime ministerial debate between Gordon Brown, Nick Clegg and David Cameron.

It has been said that on election night, Sky News HD will broadcast the Decision Time program from 9pm, with Kay Burley joining Jeremy Thompson and Anna Botting to head the pre-count coverage.

And then, Eamonn Holmes and Dermot Murnaghan will take over, when the counts get over and the story moves to Westminster.
